IG Hafiz Ringim Relieved of Duties as of Today
Ringim was removed from office alongside seven other Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGs).
POLICE boss Hafiz Ringim, has tendered his retirement letter with immidiate effect while a Police helicopter is on its way to Bauchi now to bring the New IGP MD Abubakar to Abuja. Official announcement is likely to be made today. Already, a number of DIG's have cleared their desks.

This follows last week's massacre in Kano by Boko Haram and a closed-door meeting of the top ranking officers of the Nigeria Police Force headed by Hafiz Ringim held for six hours in Abuja.

The agenda of the meeting, which started at about 10:am and ended at about 4:30pm, was not disclosed as at Press time.

All Deputy Inspector Generals of Police (DIGs) and the Force Secretary were in attendance at the meeting, which took place at the IGP’s conference room of the Louis Edet House of the Police Headquarters in Abuja.
Presidency is rumored to be have seriously considered an immediate replacement for Ringim and all other security chiefs who have been found covertly supporting the activities of Boko Haram in the country.
