This year’s FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Associations) General Assembly holds between February 12 and 13, 2012, in Berlin, Germany.
FIAPF is to film producing at global level what the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) is to the game of football at global level too.

Nollywood will be hugely represented at the forthcoming International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPE), by the Association of Nollywood Core Producers (ANCOP).
Through the efforts and platform of ANCOP, Nigeria was in May 2011, during the Cannes film festival in France officially admitted into the membership of FIAPF.
The three Nigerian representatives on the board of FIAPF are the President of ANCOP, Comrade Alex Eyengho, Chief Gab Onyi Okoye (Igwe Gabosky) and Mr. Madu C. Chikwendu.
In a press statement made available to us in Lagos recently, Comrade Eyengho confirmed that he would lead the Nigerian delegation, which include Igwe Gabosky, Mr. Chikwendu and others. According to Comrade Eyengho, the event is a rendezvous of film producers from major filmmaking countries around the world.
“For us in Nollywood, Nigeria’s membership of FIAPF is a big deal. Remember that Nigeria is the only country in sub Sahara Africa to be admitted as a member of FIAPF. In fact, Egypt and Nigeria are the only African countries on the board of FIAPF as member-nations. There are other countries like USA, India, UK, Germany, and China among many others as member-nations. This is one of the many proactive steps that has been taken by ANCOP to deepen the Nollywood brand globally”, Comrade Eyengho stated.
He further disclosed that ANCOP would sit down with the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) and the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC), as soon as the delegation returns from Germany. This, according to him is with a view to letting these agencies know the importance of Nigeria’s membership of FIAPF and what was expected of them (NFVCB and NFC) henceforth.
