Sola Adelowo Talks The Talk on Fashion and Consulting
“You have to buy fabric. You have to take it to a tailor. So there was always that very purposeful and very intentional approach to fashion."- Sola Adelowo

"You have to go to the market,” said Adelowa. “You have to buy fabric. You have to take it to a tailor. So there was always that very purposeful and very intentional approach to fashion."

Now, she is combining that passion with another.

"I absolutely love developing people, teaching people," said Adelowo.

As Indianapolis' only certified image consultant, Sola does more than just tell you what is in style.

"What really sets me apart, in addition to the certification, is the amount of time that I take to understand my clients," she explains.

To do that, she is developing a unique, detailed consulting session that she performs before ever stepping into a closet.

"For me, it's all about the people,” said Adelowo. “It's about my clients. Fashion is number 2. The individual is number 1, really understanding that person. Understanding what's going to make them shine; what's going to make them confident. And then, how do I use the fashion to do that? That's my passion.”

One of her clients, Fran, certainly has a passion for fashion.

"As a little girl, I was your typical girl," remembers Fran. "I loved being in dresses, riding my bicycle. I loved putting on my mom's jewelry, walking around in her clothes."

Yet, with a bedroom-turned-closet and a hallway of shoes, Fran needed help focusing her style.

Adelowo worked with her to help bring it all together. While Fran's closest is hard to compete with, Adelowo said it is not about the clothes as much as it is about the person wearing them.

"At the end of the day they need to look confident,” said Adelowo. “They need to feel confident. If they feel confident, they can exude confidence. They carry the fashion off flawlessly and everybody wins in that situation.”

Adelowo does dish on some general hot trends for the summer. She said tribal prints, pink colors and sporty chic will all be in demand.
